The Model of Excellence

Culinary & Hospitality Management

Culinary & Hospitality Management

The Culinary Arts & Hospitality pathway prepares students for careers in the food service, hospitality, and tourism industries. Students develop culinary techniques, food safety knowledge, customer service, and hospitality management skills through hands-on learning, industry experiences, and career-focused projects.

Fundamentals of Culinary Arts & Hospitality (Level 1)
Students are introduced to the culinary and hospitality industries while building foundational skills in food preparation, sanitation, safety, nutrition, and kitchen operations through hands-on experiences.

Advanced Food Production & Hospitality Management (Level 2)
Students expand their culinary skills through advanced food preparation, menu planning, baking, customer service, and hospitality management. The course emphasizes teamwork, communication, and industry-standard practices.

The Culinary & Hospitality Professional (Level 3)
Students refine advanced culinary and hospitality skills while focusing on menu development, restaurant operations, leadership, and career readiness. The course prepares students for postsecondary education and careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.

Work-Based Learning (Level 4)

Students participate in real-world learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to careers in culinary arts, food service, hospitality management, and tourism. Through job shadowing, workplace visits, mentorships, industry guest speakers, career preparation activities, catering and event experiences, and an internship, students gain firsthand experience with food preparation, kitchen operations, customer service, sanitation, safety, and hospitality management. Work-based learning helps students strengthen culinary, communication, teamwork, professionalism, time management, and problem-solving skills while preparing for industry certifications, postsecondary education, and future careers in culinary arts and hospitality.
