The Agricultural Structures & Engineering pathway prepares students for careers in construction, engineering, and skilled trades. Students develop hands-on skills in construction methods, design, problem-solving, and engineering principles while exploring areas such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, building maintenance, and green energy technologies.
Fundamentals of Agricultural Structures & Engineering (Level 1)
Students are introduced to agricultural construction and engineering through hands-on projects and design experiences. The course develops skills in tool use, construction planning, blueprint reading, measurement, and workplace safety.
Structural Systems in Agriculture (Level 2) Students expand their construction and engineering skills through large-scale building projects and advanced hands-on experiences. Topics include structural design, construction techniques, equipment operation, and project planning.
Essential Skills in Agricultural Structures & Engineering (Level 3) Students gain advanced technical skills used in construction and agricultural industries, including welding, fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, and project finishing techniques. The course emphasizes precision, problem-solving, and career readiness in the skilled trades.
Work-Based Learning (Level 4)
Students participate in real-world learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to careers in construction, engineering, agriculture, and the skilled trades. Through job shadowing, industry site visits, safety training, mentorships, guest speakers, and an internship, students gain firsthand experience with professional tools, equipment, construction methods, and workplace expectations. Work-based learning helps students strengthen technical, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while preparing for apprenticeships, industry certifications, college programs, and career success.
National FFA Organization (FFA)
The National FFA Organization is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that prepares students for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. Through leadership opportunities, community service, hands-on agricultural experiences, and career and leadership development events, students build technical knowledge, teamwork, communication, and career-ready skills while connecting classroom learning to real-world agricultural industries. Students may participate in local, state, and national conferences and competitions while developing the skills needed for future success in college, the workforce, and agricultural careers.
