CTE Spotlight: Work-Based Learning (LFHS)
At Lake Forest High School, Work-Based Learning (WBL) is the culminating experience of a Career & Technical Education pathway—where classroom learning meets real-world experience.
Through Work-Based Learning, students apply the skills they’ve developed in their CTE pathways while gaining hands-on experience with local businesses, organizations, and industry partners.
Students gain:
Real-world job experience, professional skills, workplace expectations, and career exploration opportunities
Experiences may include:
Internships, job shadowing, career mentoring, and hands-on training aligned to students’ career interests
Partners include:
Local businesses, community organizations, and industry professionals who help prepare students for life after high school
Work-Based Learning allows students to explore careers, build confidence, and graduate career-ready with experience that matters.
Lake Forest CTE turns interests into futures.
